therapy for anxiety, relationships and trauma in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
McCall Walker, LLC
Location: Virtual & In-persoN
Do you ever feel trapped in the same pattern of relationships, not in control of your own worries, or constantly on the edge of burnout?
You may even notice you feel overwhelmed but are too scared to rest because everything might fall apart.
I specialize in people coping with anxiety, life transitions, relationship distress, intergenerational trauma, and depression. I also connect deeply with a diverse population of identities, particularly immigrants, POC, and adoptees.
So what's therapy with me actually like?
I draw from interpersonal and person-centered modalities in order to connect with others and trust clients as the expert of their experience. With gentle guidance and reflections, I bring warmth and humor into the therapeutic space to connect as two humans.
I love reflecting with clients on their past and how it impacts their present concerns, bringing in conversation on client values and what is most important to them as people to build self-confidence in making change for their wellness. I adapt my approach and the tools I bring in based on client needs, but often incorporate DBT, ACT, and CBT materials.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
When I'm not in therapist mode, I try to practice what I preach, and prioritize times for rest and play. I love to craft with my cat, play video games, or dive into some volleyball with friends.

I find that the work comes most naturally with adult clients grappling with anxiety, intergenerational trauma, lower self-esteem, identity development, or relationship distress. I would love to continue building a diverse caseload of ages and identities, but I do hope to further specialize with immigrants, POC, and adoptees. In addition, I aim to train more in ACT and IFS for more involved trauma work.

IDEAL VACATION:
My ideal vacation is to somewhere scenic and beautiful, with an itinerary that balances food, sight-seeing, and also lazing about. Some places on my bucket list include Switzerland, Japan, and Greece!
FAVORITE WAY TO UNWIND:
I love to curl up on the couch with a heavy blanket and my cat, either watching tv, reading a good book, or doing some crafts.
a life-changing piece of advice you’ve received:
I often think about Brenee Brown's description that the opposite of play is not work, but depression.
I also lead both my personal and therapeutic life trying to be curious. It takes the pressure of knowing everything off, and allows me to be present.
skill you’re currently working on:
I am currently working on feeling more comfortable in discomfort, and continuing to show up with authenticity. This shows up in session as a newer clinician, but also folds into the way my anxiety shows up in my own relationships.
favorite part about BEING A THERAPIST:
I feel honored being somebody who is allowed into the worlds of my clients. It feels so rewarding to see the micro and macro changes over time, most so being them beginning to see themselves with more love.
